Examining the Ingredients:
7-Methoxyflavone: A lot of ingredients look great on paper but when it comes to real world applications they fail for a variety of reasons. No matter how high the aromatase inhibiting score of an ingredient or how high an ingredients binding affinity for aromatase is in a test tube, if it is poorly absorbed, unstable in the GI, or metabolized too quickly in the body, it will be ineffective. This is where 7-Methoxyflavone shines. It has been suggested that 7-Methoxyflavone has a very high aromatase inhibiting score AND a high intestinal absorption and metabolic stability rate.*
7-Methoxyflavone falls into the flavone category of ingredients. Flavones are plant chemicals that have been suggested to be competitive inhibitors of cytochrome P450 aromatase with respect to the androgen substrate. Something unique that makes 7-Methoxyflavone desirable is that unlike most flavones, it appears to be very selective and seems to inhibit aromatase but not 17beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase. Optimizing the 17b-HSD activity is important for the endogenous testosterone synthesis.*

Aromatase enzymes are part of the body’s biochemistry system that are used in the conversion of testosterone to estrogen. When aromatase enzyme activity is inhibited, this prevents the conversion of testosterone to estrogen thus preventing the negative feedback loop in the HPTA (Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Testicular-Axis).*
Indole-3-Carbinol (I3C) is a naturally occurring phytochemical found such vegetables as broccoli and cabbage. It is included in PCT Assist due to its effect on modulating estrogen metabolism. Icariin (20%) (Horny Goat Weed): Icariin is derived from Horny Goat Weed. There are numerous standardizations available, but for the purpose of inclusion in PCT Assist, we selected the ultra-potent 20% extract.
Icariin is thought to increase circulating testosterone levels as well as help improve sex drive, making it an excellent addition during the post cycle therapy period. In addition, it is thought that two of the metabolites of Icariin may be potent estrogen receptor antagonists, making it even more synergistic with the other ingredients in the PCT Assist formulation.*
Mucuna Pruriens SE (Precision Blended 95% & 20% Extracts) is an adaptogenic herb that helps increase LH (Luteinizing hormone) which can lead to increases in testosterone production and release. It can also significantly help elevate levels of growth hormone (GH) in the body, and lower prolactin levels by increasing dopamine neurotransmitter synthesis.
Piperine (95%) is included in the formula due to its ability to enhance absorption of nutrients and phytochemicals in the intestines. It is also thought to inhibit the glucuronidase enzyme, which is an enzyme that degrades many ingredients.
